prompt
Everything the model receives in one request: instructions, history, retrieved text and tool definitions together.
prompt caching
A provider feature that reuses the model's prefill state for a stable prompt prefix on later calls, so cache hits cost less per input token and return the first token faster.
prompt injection
An attack where instructions inside untrusted input, such as a fetched page or a tool result, get followed as if you had written them.
