temperature
A sampler knob that rescales next-token probabilities: low values pick the top token, higher values admit more of the tail.
token
The unit a model reads and writes: a fragment of text. Limits and prices are counted in these, not in words.
tool calling
The model returns a structured request to run one of your functions. Your code runs it and sends the result back.
top-p
A sampler that keeps the smallest set of top tokens whose probabilities sum to at least p, then draws from that set. Nucleus sampling, from the paper.
